we have a mama bird with four little babies nesting in the wisteria under the porch cover in the back patio...I tried a number of bird-identification things...and nothing is correct. I googled some of the key features, and found this image of the wing bars (ish) of a northen mockingbird...could be it? not sure mama bird def has a defned white band on the tail feathers (squared at end)

any help is appreciated~

It might be a mourning dove. They're very common around here. They make a very distinctive sound both in their call and when they fly. Try to find the sound somewhere online - that might help you to determine if you've got a dove.
